First, we mask off the work area thoroughly.
Next, we mask off the hardware.
After that, we set up our fume exhauster to control dust and odor.
Then we remove all caulk or silicone from the tile.
The next step is to aggressively clean the entire tile surface.
After which we make any necessary repairs to the tile and grout.
Next, we thoroughly sand all of the tile and grout.
Then we generously apply a chemical to promote adhesion to the tile and grout.
After that, we spray multiple coats of our proprietary coating.

How do you handle the grout with tile refinishing?
You will still have grout lines after your tile is refinished. The grout and the tile will both be covered in our coating. The coating we use is water, heat, chemical, and scratch resistant, and it should be more resistant to mold and mildew while being easier to clean as long as you follow our care instructions. If there is any loose or missing grout we will repair that before refinishing the tile. In fact it is standard operating procedure on most projects to fill all of the grout lines with new grout. That being said if your grout is old, failing, falling out of the wall. Then we need to dig all of that grout out and completely regrout your tile. As normally refinishing tile is the process of restoring it to like new condition normally in as little as one day without replacing it or doing any demolition work. Which keeps the cost low, the mess contained, and the timeline short. This is why many people choose to refinish their tile instead of to replace it.
Do I have to put everything away?
Like the blender, can opener, cookie jar and any other things on my kitchen countertops. Will they be in the way when you refinish my kitchen backsplash tile? Yes you would want to remove any personal items from the work area so we can properly mask off the countertops and other nearby items that are not being done.
