Yes in most cases refinishing a bathtub is significantly less expensive than the replacement or remodeling cost. How much money can an apartment complex by refinishing 100 tubs versus replacing them?

While every job is different of course in terms of size, complexity, location and many other variables. I can tell you that a bathtub liner which isn’t even a full remodel normally costs thousands of dollars per unit versus refinishing which normally costs hundreds of dollars per unit. It is no exaggeration to say on a large project with 100+ units you could easily save $100,000 or more by refinishing instead of replacing your bathtubs or putting a liner over them. Obviously to give you an exact or accurate savings comparison we’d need to know what the replacement cost is compared to our refinishing cost.

Can bathtubs in apartments be refinished if the apartment is occupied by a tenant?

That depends on who you hire. Bath Refinishing Solutions has a proprietary refinishing coating which is Isocyanate free and has up to 80% less odor than many competing products. Because of this we are able to do occupied apartments which many of our competitors cannot or will not do. We’re so confident you’ll feel we are a better choice for your apartment complex and that your tenants will agree. We offer a sample which if you decide our coating doesn’t have less odor, doesn’t look better than what you’ve used in the past, and isn’t more durable the sample tub is on us. Obviously we wouldn’t make these claims if we didn’t already know our coating is better than what the majority of the refinishing companies in our area are using.

How many units can you refinish?

Bath Refinishing Solutions is equipped to handle large and complex projects in a timely and professional manner. Whether you have 100 units or 1,000 units we are able to complete them in a timely fashion. For example we completed refinishing on 100 fiberglass tub shower units for an apartment complex in the Cincinnati, Ohio market in only 2 weeks recently. Even if they would have needed 300 units we still could have finished the job in the same 2 week timeframe, we just would have sent more technicians to the job. We’re rarely given a deadline we can’t meet. Do you offer commercial discounts for multi-family housing?

Yes our pricing is very competitive and the more units that you need done the more money we can save you with our commercial discount and our efficiency discount. On top of that we have a proprietary coating which independent lab testing by the American Society for Testing and Materials has shown has more adhesion than most competing products on the market today. Our in house scratch tests have confirmed with a butter knife and a box cutter that the coated ceramic tile actually performs better than uncoated ceramic tile by itself in terms of scratch resistance. Most of our competitors do not have a coating with that much scratch resistance.

What sorts of damage can you repair?

We can repair and conceal burns, caulk, chips, cracks, discoloration, dullness, flex or give, grout, hard water stains, missing tiles, rust, smoke damage, water damage, etc.

How long does a professionally refinished apartment bathtub or shower typically last?

That depends on who you hire and what process they use. We’re able to give a 10 year warranty on our residential services. We use the same products, equipment, and technicians on our commercial services. Obviously homeowners take better care of their own bathtub than tenants take care of your bathtub. In our experience a refinished commercial tub by BRS should last 3 to 10 years depending on the tenant and usage. That being said I know one of our clients Melissa told me we’d done 40 units for her over the course of three years and that not one of them had failed due to an issue we caused. She said the company they used to use had to redo their tub tub showers every 6 to 12 months mostly due to issues caused by that company. Think of how much money they saved by switching to us? On top of that our warranty has a built in extended warranty. For example if you paid competitor (not BRS) $395 to refinish a bathtub and the tenant ruins the refinishing 15 months later. The competitor would just charge you the full retail price to refinish it again when they move out. Under the terms of the warranty we offer, you’d be able to pay a deductible since it was an issue we didn’t cause either a $95 or $195 deductible depending on the time to complete would apply. That $195 deductible is to completely redo your standard size built into the wall bathtub again from scratch. So in this example we’d save you $200. But think of Melissa who we did 40 units for. Obviously she saved a lot more than $200 by working with us!

How soon can a multi-family bathtub or shower be used after it was refinished?

You can normally take a shower 24 hours after we are done and a bath 48 hours after we are done. So there isn’t very much down time with our process and coating. Which is one of the reasons commercial clients love working with us.

How does multi-family tile refinishing work?

We do the work in your unit, mask off the work area, clean the tile, make any repairs, sand the tile, and apply our coatings. This process normally takes anywhere from 3 to 6 hours per unit depending on the complexity of the job.
